How to make Reese’s Cups with just three ingredients?
Crafting these delightful Reese’s Cups couldn’t be easier. With only three essential ingredients, you’ll have a batch of these sweet treats ready in no time. Making your own also allows you to choose higher quality ingredients and avoid and unnecessary additives. Here are the essentials:
- Chocolate: Start with quality chocolate of your choice. We recommend a darker chocolate to avoid it being too sweet and it should be easy to melt, like this coating chocolate. But you could also use your favourite milk chocolate or even white chocolate.
- Peanut butter: Either smooth or crunchy will work, but if you like some pieces and texture you’ll love them with the crunchy peanut butter. You could also add in peanut pieces if you like
- Powdered sugar: The powdered sugar, or icing sugar, is essential to get to slightly grainy texture for the peanut cups, and ensure it is not too liquid on the outside.
Are the Cups Gluten-Free?
Reese’s cups are generally considered gluten-free. And making your own ensure that you can use the best ingredients for yourself. All ingredients in this recipe are gluten-free, but we recommend checking the ingredients of your products for traces of gluten. Enjoy these delectable treats without any worry about gluten content.

Homemade Reese’s Cup (3 ingredients)
Ingredients
- 200 g Coating chocolate
- 120 g Peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
- 30 g Powdered sugar (icing sugar)
Instructions
- Start with Chocolate: Prepare 12 muffin cups and melt your coating chocolate over water bath. Pour half of the melted chocolate into the 12 cups (about 1 tbsp per cup). Let it harden slightly in the fridge for about 15 minutes. Set the remaining melted chocolate aside (it will usually keep liquid enough)
- Peanut Butter Filling: Mix peanut butter and powdered sugar in a bowl. Then scoop about 1 tsp into each cup and gently flatten it with the tip of your spoon
- More chocolate: Now drizzle over the remaining chocolate to cover the peanut butter layer fully
- Chill: Let it set in the fridge for at least 1-2 hours, or over night. It keeps for a couple of weeks in the fridge.
