Apple crumble

Apple crumble is a classic dessert that is loved by many for its warm and comforting flavors. It's one of the simplest desserts and is the perfect combination of fresh apples and sweet, buttery streusel.
Enjoy it on its own, or topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. It's so comforting and indulgent that it's sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Apple base

  • 4 medium apples, peeled, cored and diced (preferably Golden or Granny Smith)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt

Crumble (aka Streusel)

  • 50 g flour
  • 50 g fine oats
  • 40 g sugar
  • 60 g butter (and some more to top)

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees
  • For the apple base, peel apples, remove the core and cut into dices. Lay them in your mould, sprinkle over sugar, cinnamon and salt, then mix
  • For the crumble: In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, sugar. Cut butter into small pieces, then use your fingers to rub it into the flour mixture.
    Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the apples. If you prefer bigger crumbles, use fingers to shape them. Place about 6 pea-sized bits of butter on top of the crumble layer.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees until the crumbles are golden brown.
